Melissa Carey

Melissa Carey is an intuitive, trauma-informed massage therapist with over 20 years of experience in holistic bodywork and healing arts. Her work integrates Thai Yoga Massage, Chi Nei Tsang (abdominal detox), myofascial release, and sound healing to support deep, whole-body transformation.

Rooted in the belief that the body holds innate wisdom to heal, Melissa creates sessions that are both therapeutic and restorative—addressing physical tension while gently supporting emotional release and nervous system regulation.

Melissa graduated from Boulder College of Massage Therapy in 2005 and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Traditional Eastern Arts from Naropa University, with studies in yoga, Ayurveda, music, and religious traditions. Her ongoing training with leading practitioners in trauma-informed care, massage, and sound healing continues to shape her integrative approach.

Her background as an artist and musician informs her use of sound as a healing modality, incorporating elements such as vocal toning, Tibetan bowls, and mantra when appropriate. Through years of study in both yogic and Chinese medicine traditions, Melissa brings a thoughtful, globally informed perspective to her practice.

At Self Transformations, Melissa offers intentional, personalized sessions designed to restore balance, build resilience, and support long-term healing.
