Massage Frequently Asked Questions

What are the benefits of massage?

Massage is no longer for the elite members of society. It is now readily available and a powerful tool for almost everyone in order to take charge of their health and well-being. In fact, studies have shown that massage is an effective treatment for reducing stress, pain and muscle tension.  It also produces feeling of caring, comfort and connection.

Specifically, massage may helps people who suffer from:

  • Anxiety
  • Digestive disorders
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Headaches
  • Insomnia related to stress
  • Myofascial pain syndrome
  • Soft tissue strains or injuries
  • Sports injuries
  • Temporomandibular joint pain
  • Whiplash
  • Low back pain
Is Therapeutic massage painful?

Therapeutic massage should never be painful.  If it is, the massage therapist is working too deeply.  If 10 is pain, than therapeutic pressure should be at about a 6 or 7.  The pressure is often described as a “hurt so good” feeling.  Clients may feel some degree of discomfort but at the same time feel it is helpful and relieving.  The depth and techniques used are always adjusted to meet the individual’s preferences and needs.  No two session will ever be the same.

Do you accept insurance?

Personal injury insurance (PIP) from auto insurances is accepted.  The claim must be open, clients must have a prescription for massage therapy from a medical doctor (this includes the diagnostic codes and number of treatments) and should have a lawyer for their case.  Please contact us for more specific information.
